First song ever written: At the age of 9, Melissa wrote her first song titled "Horses". It was an ode to her horse Nashka. She no longer has the lyrics to that song but remembers writing it and singing it to her family.

First song recorded professionally: At age 14, Melissa recorded her first demo. The songs were "You Mean The World To Me" by Toni Braxton and "The Rose" by Bette Midler.

First original song recorded professionally: After her demo, her mother wrote her first original song to be recorded titled "Baby Come Back".

First concert: In 1998, Melissa created a "farewell" concert for her friends in her hometown Yauco titled "Once In A Lifetime". Melissa and her mother promoted the event heavily that ticket sales rose to over 300.
